Where patients drive progress
Hour by hour. Day by day. Year by year. Since 2010, Kimberly has been listening.
Listening to what patients say, what they don't say, and what is seen and felt but can't be said.
Questions lead to new questions that lead to insights. As a highly experienced and skilled mental health therapist, Kimberly is using what she has learned from patients to contribute meaningfully to the development of scholarship and research presented at national conferences.
Kimberly uses clinical interventions grounded in evolving science.
"My research interests center on understanding the pathophysiological relationship between childhood maltreatment, other forms of trauma, and the development of PTSD. I aim to explore the neurobiological, psychological, and environmental mechanisms through which early-life and cumulative trauma contribute to PTSD symptomatology. Ultimately, I hope to contribute to the development of trauma-informed interventions that are empirically based in an improved understanding of these complex interactions."
