By being educated on sexuality topics and specific language to be used when interacting with patients during routine care, you can have a tremendously helpful outcome on the delivery of care and support of your patient.

At Kimberly Keiser & Associates, our company mission is not only to promote sexual health, freedom, and inclusivity, but also to support the development of healthy, sustainable, and loving relationships.

As a team, we train using a variety of forms of sex-positive educational mediums. It is our goal to utilize the many forms of sexuality education available today not only in our own professional training and with our clients, but also with other healthcare professionals.

We Offer Specialized Services

In addition to our foundational mental health services, Kimberly Keiser & Associates also offers specialized therapeutic approaches to address specific needs, including sex therapy, interpersonal group psychotherapy, trauma therapy, and couples counseling. These therapeutic approaches are delivered by licensed counselors with advanced training and experience in these areas.

  • Sex therapy at our Sioux Falls location or delivered through telehealth can help individuals or couples overcome symptoms associated with a range of sexual health concerns. Talking with a certified sex therapist can help a person enjoy deeper intimacy and a stronger connection with their partner. Kimberly Keiser is an AASECT certified sex therapist and AASECT certified sex therapist supervisor providing direct client services, supervising, and training associate therapists at the clinic, and curating all psychoeducation through Mend Education, Inc.

  • It’s not uncommon for a person to experience the lingering effects of attachment related trauma or have difficulty with feeling safe, connected, and stable in close relationships. Impersonal group psychotherapy focuses on the here-and-now interactions between group members to provide a safe space to explore and heal deeply entrenched maladaptive attachment patterns. Our interpersonal psychotherapy groups may focus on a specific clinical concern or primarily function to address interpersonal skill development.

  • Experiencing a single traumatic event or growing up with ongoing childhood abuse and neglect can leave deep wounds, which can trigger uncomfortable or unexplained symptoms, posttraumatic stress, or lead to having posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Trauma therapy can help individuals resolve their symptoms in a safe and nonjudgmental environment.

At Kimberly Keiser & Associates we understand that simply taking about your problem or recalling painful events from your past may not be sufficient. Our team uses multiple therapy methods, and specializes in Eye Movement Desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and internal family system (IFS) to facilitate healing by targeting specific trauma symptoms and restoring authentic inner peace and healing.

  • Some individuals go through individual therapy sessions and realize their relationship would benefit from couples therapy, while others seek out couples therapy during a crisis or proactively to prevent concerns from developing into more significant problems. Our couples therapy and intimacy counseling in Sioux Falls encourages clear and deep communication between partners to help them resolve conflicts, improve intimacy, and cultivate reconciliation. Our highly trained, compassionate therapists create personalized plans for each couple's needs.

  • Anxiety and depression occur differently for many people. These mental health issues often co-occur and are common, resulting in an array of symptoms. We use a variety of empirically based treatment methodologies and counseling at our Sioux Falls location to help alleviate symptoms and provide support for healing. Counseling for anxiety and depression can help you work toward managing and reducing the symptoms regardless of the severity.

  • Kimberly Keiser & Associates is passionate about advocating and supporting the LGBTQIA community. Whether individuals are seeking gender affirmation or coping with symptoms of gender dysphoria, our therapists are here to help. Our clinic adheres to the WPATH standards of care as we support patients in their mental, sexual, and gender-related concerns. The clinic has over a decade of experience conducting assessments and writing letters of support for individuals seeking gender affirmation medical interventions.

  • We are delighted to offer telehealth online counseling for our clients. Our counseling sessions help expand access, break down barriers to in-person counseling, and provide flexibility for busy individuals. Whether you are searching for a mental health counselor or are a current patient, you can enjoy the benefits of telehealth counseling. Telehealth is also covered by the insurance companies we are in-network with.
