Now Offering Telehealth Therapy Across New York State & NYC

I’m excited to share that I am now offering telehealth psychotherapy and sex therapy to clients throughout New York State, with a primary focus on New York City. This allows individuals and couples NYC and the surrounding regions to access highly specialized, research-informed care from the privacy and convenience of home.

Therapy Backed by Science, Shaped by Experience, Delivered with Compassion

My clinical work integrates peer-reviewed research, advanced clinical training, and trauma-informed care to support individuals and couples seeking deeper intimacy, restored confidence, and meaningful emotional well-being.

My approach is rooted in the science of trauma, sexual functioning, and nervous system regulation—bridging data with lived human experience so therapy is not only supportive, but strategically effective. Telehealth therapy makes this level of care accessible to New Yorkers who value depth, discretion, and clinical sophistication.

Why Therapy with Kimberly Is Different: Research + Clinical Depth

Trauma-informed sex therapy in my practice is grounded in nearly two decades of experience as an AASECT-certified sex therapist and supervisor and an EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist, along with active engagement in clinical research. Scientific insight informs every step of therapy—from assessment and case conceptualization to treatment planning and outcomes.

My research focuses on:

  • How childhood maltreatment and trauma mechanisms shape adult sexual functioning

  • The role of PTSD symptom clusters in predicting sexual health outcomes

  • How autonomic nervous system responses from trauma interact with sexual arousal and response

  • Gender differences in sexual functioning following early childhood trauma

This research directly informs how we understand your concerns and tailor treatment in the therapy room. Clients benefit from care that reflects the latest evidence in trauma, neurobiology, and sexual health, translated into practical, human-centered healing.

Your Concerns Meet Our Clinical Focus

Sex Therapy — Healing Desire, Pleasure & Connection

Sex therapy is not about surface-level behavior change. It’s about understanding the psychological, biological, and relational systems that shape your erotic life. I work with concerns such as low desire, sexual pain, arousal difficulties, performance anxiety, relational sexual distress, and trauma-related sexual concerns—using affirming, skilled, and effective clinical care.

Trauma & Somatic Therapy — Mind-Body Healing

Trauma lives not only in memory, but also in the body and the nervous system. I use evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS), to help clients process traumatic experiences, restore nervous system regulation, and reclaim emotional freedom.

Couples & Relational Work — Communication & Connection

Healthy relationships depend on emotional safety, attunement, and skillful communication. I support couples navigating conflict, differences in desire, impact of trauma, and life transitions—helping partners build clarity, collaboration, and deeper connection.
